When I think of Thanksgiving, I look to my brother and sisters and their family, and my friends. For me, it’s a time to remember those close, far and those no here any longer. I’m thankful they have crossed into my life and enriched it in so many ways. I certainly have much to be thankful for, and I hope when I mail this card I can convey how special they are to me.
I saw a post on Pinterest of a card using a similar color and thought it was pretty, yet unusual. This card captures the “Happy Thanksgiving” theme I wanted, but with a touch of a non-traditional color: teal. So I created this card for a difference in tradition.
The front base is popped with the pumpkin, leaves and the sentiment as if yelling, “Look at me!”
For the teal base, I stamped the leaves and sprigs with the Whip Cream ink pad on Blue Lagoon cardstock. The Buttercream cardstock on top is embossed with the Barn Wall embossing folder for even more texture! I stamped the “Happy” and “thanksgiving” from the stamp set Happy Merry, and the pumpkin from Martha’s Pumpkins stamp set. I stamped both with Hazelnut Blend ink pad.
For the inside base, I stamped a strip from Blue Lagoon cardstock using the Buttercream ink pad and the same stamps from the front piece.
What I love about this card is the use of the non-traditional colors that gives it a clean look! This unexpected use of teal will capture their attention! You can make this card too using the supplies I’ve listed below.
If you’ve gotten this far, the teal must have captured you as well! Enjoy!
